Caolan Costello, of Tullyverry Drive, Greysteel, was convicted of assault occasioning actual bodily harm and disorderly behaviour on July 8, 2012.

The court heard that Costello assaulted the injured party as he waited at a Waterside taxi rank. He spent two days in hospital as a result and had to undergo surgery to correct a fractured nose.

Suspending a six month jail term for two years, Deputy District Judge Austin Kennedy ordered the 29-year-old to pay £500 compensation to the injured party. He was also fined £100.
