84 economists employed in civil service

EIGHTY-FOUR economists were employed as civil servants in Northern Ireland at the start of the year, according to Finance Minister Sammy Wilson.

Alliance MLA Trevor Lunn asked him for the figures at the Stormont Assembly.

Mr Wilson replied: “There are two categories of Economists employed in the Northern Ireland Civil Service; general Economists and Agricultural Economists.”

He said there were 72 economists and 12 agricultural economists at January 1, 2011.
