The Rev. Young then told the Rev. Corkey that he had just registered his Company as 8th Route and that Finvoy would have to be 9th Route and so 9th Route Finvoy Boys Brigade was born, and on Sunday evening the 17th January 2016 a large congregation of former officers, Leaders, Boys, parents and friends attended a 70th anniversary service in Finvoy Presbyterian Church.

After the service those present enjoyed a cup of tea and some anniversary cake. A large display of memorabilia, uniform, badges, photographs and newspaper clipping created a lot of debate among those who seen it.

The Captain Officers and boys would like to thank the organist miss Rae Shields for her help as well as all those who attended the anniversary service.
