A blooming great tea party

The Lisburn and Hillsborough Marie Curie fundraising group is urging local residents to get together with family and friends and organise a Blooming Great Tea Party between June 20-29 to raise funds for Marie Curie, the charity which provides care and support to people living with a terminal illness.

The Lisburn and Hillsborough Marie Curie Fundraising Group held their own Blooming Great Tea Party on June 9 at Christ Church Hall in Lisburn, which raised £630.

The Mayor of Lisburn Councillor Thomas Beckett attended to give his support, as well as other local people and Councillors Margaret Tolerton, William Leathem, John and Jenny Palmer and MLA Jonathan Craig.

A spokesperson for the Lisburn and Hillsborough group said: “We are very grateful to Christ church leaders for allowing us to use their facilities for this wonderful cause.

“Holding your own Blooming Great Tea Party is really easy to do.

“Whether you hold it at home, at work or somewhere locally it’s a fun way to get together with friends and support your local Marie Curie Nurses and people living with a terminal illness.”
