Rev Dr David Latimer and Donal Dunne whose father was murdered in 1974 are featured in the programme ‘A Bright Band New Day’ being screened on BBC1 NI on Monday, November 25 at 10.35pm.

It is the story of the two men endeavouring to move on from Northern Ireland’s past. Rev Latimer speaks of his attempt to help build a shared future for the people of Londonderry while Mr Dunnespeaks about dealing with his family’s troubled past.

Rev Latimer, minister at First Derry Presbyterian Church, spearheaded the initiative ‘A Bright Brand New Day’ which culminated in a major public event at Guildhall Square on Sunday, May 19, with Martin Luther King III, eldest son of the Nobel Peace Prize winner. Meanwhile, Mr Dunne’s father was killed in an IRA bomb in his car in January 1974. This is an islandtv and Imagine Media programme.
