A cycle ride with a difference

A group of cyclists will leave Altnagelvin Hospital to ride to Coleraine Town Hall on Monday, June 18.

They will be taking part in a ‘Life Cycle’ to express their thanks for the gift of life which som eof them have received in the form of an organ transplant.

Their aim is to bring to the attention of the public the fact that over 10,000 people in the UK are in need of an organ transplant and that every day three people on average will die while waiting for one.

Those taking part in the Life Cycle and the friends who will be supporting them want to show their appreciation for the fact that they have the health and strength to take part in such an event.

In many cases this is due to the generosity of those who have donated an organ and of their families who have supported their decision.

The cyclists are looking forward to the warm welcome they know they will receive when they arrive at The Diamond at around 2pm.
