A few thoughtful seeds sown may bring encouragement

“A time to keep silence and a time to speak.”

ECC 3:7

Could it be that thoughtless word you uttered

Coming foremost to your mind,

Realising now how deep the impact

On the wound it may have left behind?

Think again before you act impulsively,

Often it’s rewarding just to be quiet,

Then find somewhere along the line

An echo of regret.

The value of kindness we cannot access,

So much can stem from things we say,

A few moments gives you time to rethink

And voice things is a more tactful way.

A few thoughtful seeds sown here and there

May bring encouragement and good will,

To consider others is pleasing to God,

Stirring no trouble nor leaving no ill.
