A fitting tribute to the much loved '˜Eggy' Law

Chris attended the Pavestone Centre, a Vocational and Leisure Rehabilitation service, under the Northern Health and Social Care Trust, for many years.

Although Chris had a severely disabling condition, he took part in many activities at Pavestone. Chris sadly passed away in June last year, at his funeral his mother arranged for donations, in lieu of flowers, to be given to the Pavestone Centre. A sum of £300 was donated, and the idea was suggested to develop the garden in memory of Chris.

And, last week, the garden was officially opened by staff and members of Chris’ family.

Rhoda Baxter, Pavestone’s Facility Lead, thanked all those involved in making the garden.

She then shared memories of Chris at Pavestone, recalling how he had participated in the Ceramic Workshop, was a founder member of ‘Pavestone Press’ and the painting group.

“He was specially gifted in composing poetry being able to dictate poems when writing or using a keyboard was no longer possible, told Rhoda.”

Rhoda remarked that perhaps best of all was Chris’s attitude: “Although often in pain he never complained; was always so grateful, witty and full of fun,” she said.

“Chris Law will always be missed, but this Garden will keep his memory alive,” told Rhoda.
