WOULD YOU like to know more about working in the creative industries?

If the answer is ‘yes’, the Workers’ Educational Association in partnership with Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart has something very exciting for you!

They are offering two free taster sessions in Flowerfield Arts Centre, open to anyone aged sixteen and over, interested in working in, being self employed or gaining additional income in the Creative Industries.

These sessions are part of a bigger project called “Creativity Thirst” which is made possible by the Creative Industries Innovation Fund which is supported by the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Department of Culture, Arts and Leisure.

The sessions will be presented by professionals who work both locally and internationally, These role models will explain their work and tell the audience of their experiences to date.

Sessions will look at a couple of creative industries including craft and photography and consider some of the entrepreneurial skills necessary to make an income.

Both sessions will take place in Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart. The first session focuses on Craft and takes place on Monday, April 26 at 7.30pm. The evening will be delivered by Rachel O’Neill, Textile Designer.

The second session is delivered by Photographer and visual Artist, Arthur Ward and “Parlour Productions”: Elaine Hill and Jan Lowry who work with new businesses by incorporating photography with art direction amongst other areas. This event will take place on Monday, May 10, 7.30pm.
