A summer of fun at Glengormley Baptist

GLENGORMLEY Baptist Church hailed the end of another fantastic programme of events for local young people.

Throughout the summer the church held a Heroes Bible Club in its Carnmoney Road buildings as well as a number of outreach programmes across the town.

Lots of fun was had at the family fun outreach events in Glenvarna, Queen’s Park, Derrymore Avenue and Archvale Gardens earlier this month.

Leader Andrew Millar thanked all who helped make the events a success.

He said: “This was the first time we had done something like the outreach and we had a great turn out for it and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

“It was a great testament to all the leaders and volunteers who worked so hard to make the events work.”

The church’s programmes for the coming months are restarting, first with the Kidz Club which starts this Friday, August 31.

The club runs from 6.30pm to 7.30pm for children aged between P1 to P6.

Starting on September 14 is the youth club for children aged between P6 and Year 10 from 7.30pm and 9pm and from 7.30pm to 10.15pm for those in Year 11 and beyond.

Andrew said there were still a few places left.

He added: “We have another packed year ahead of us with the usual arts and crafts, bible stories and special fun nights.

“The youth club is a little more open to what happens, but there is sure to be lots of fun.”

All details of the clubs are available on the church’s website at www.glengormleybaptist.com.
