A26 dualling to commence

It is anticipated that work on the dualling of the A26 will commence in the next few months.

Roads Minister Danny Kennedy MLA informed East Londonderry MP Gregory Campbell in a reply to an Assembly Question from Mr Campbell.

The Minister said that “The procurement process for the A26 Dualling scheme is currently at an advanced stage with award of contract expected within the next few weeks. It is anticipated that construction of the scheme will commence by the end of this year and run for 28 months. It is envisaged that significant progress will be made on earthworks and the construction of the structures during 2015.”

Commenting further, Mr Cambell added: “This is good news for the Causeway Coast region.

“It is imperative for businesses and tourism that essential roads infrastructure is in place.”
