While traffic management arrangements will still be required along parts the scheme, limited traffic disruption is expected.

Transport Minister Danny Kennedy commented: “This important scheme is expected to be fully completed in early July and will see some 14.4 km of the existing A8, between Coleman’s Corner Roundabout and Ballyrickard Road, upgraded to dual carriageway standard.

“My officials and the contractors have worked hard to minimise any inconvenience for the public and I want to thank them for all their efforts. I look forward to the scheme’s completion and I have no doubt that the upgrading of this section of the A8 to dual carriageway will help grow the local economy and contribute to wider economic development across Northern Ireland.”
