Abbey Community College pupils get a quick taste of job options
Over 130 Year 10 pupils at Abbey Community College got to take part in a ‘Careers Speed Dating’ event, organised as part of Henderson Group’s ‘Business Class’ initiative.
The scheme involves engagement between employers and local students to help prevent social background predicting a young person’s success at school and beyond. The recent event, held at the Monkstown school, was designed to broaden students’ knowledge of employment possibilities and raise awareness of the different types of careers available to them. Students had the opportunity to network with business representative volunteers from a number of sectors at the Henderson Group which included volunteers from facilities, finance, HR, IT, marketing and retail store careers.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for students to experience the massive variation of careers on offer to them.”
