A team of 13 pupils and three teachers hope to travel to Delhi on October 22 to work with Asha in the Tigri slum community.

They were overwhelmed by the generosity of family, friends, staff and the local Ballymena community in raising this fantastic sum.

The evening included an Indian meal served by Jane’s Kitchen, Indian dance and song by pupils, and a presentation on the work of Asha by teacher, Toni Bassett.

A charity draw & auction hosted by Robert Jenkins and featuring items kindly donated by local businesses raised a large sum for Asha on the night.

The progress of the team during their trip to Delhi can be followed on academyasha2013.blogspot.com
