Academy stages its end of year show

The group performed Alice in Wonderland The Musical in Lurgan Town Hall.

The cast of the production was made up of all members from the speech and drama, and acting class, with some members as young as four having a speaking part.

The show was a huge success, with a great turn out from family, friends and the public.

"I am so proud of all the children who took part in the production," said Fiona Thompson of the academy.

"They have all progressed so much over the past year, and it is so rewarding to see them develop and perform as confidently on stage as they did.

"Any feedback from people who came to see the show has been great. I give every single member of my class the opportunity to be on stage performing for their parents, regardless of age or ability.

"We aim to promote each child’s confidence, with work on the individual," she said.

FADD runs classes in speech and drama, acting and Hip-Hop.

There will also be a summer academy in Ardowen Community Centre and Killicomaine Community Centre in August, comprising of drama, dance and art, with a performance at the end. There will also be a street dance masterclass in Killicomaine.
