Access your share of a £3bn market

NEWTOWNABBEY-based companies can now avail of help to develop the knowledge and skills required to increase success in tendering, and to access their share of a £3 billion market.

Newtownabbey Borough Council, supported by the European Regional Development Fund, has developed a procurement programme to assist local businesses to unlock their share of the 3 billion public procurement market in Northern Ireland

Envision Management Consultants are delivering the SME Procurement programme on behalf of the council, and will use their experience in the procurement market to ensure participating companies receive tangible results.

Companies participating in the programme will complete a Procurement Health Check and take part in three practical procurement skills workshops designed to give them the confidence, knowledge and skills to tender successfully.

Each company will also be assigned an experienced procurement consultant to provide them with professional advice, clear direction and to transfer the skills, developed during the workshops, to their business.

Michael McIntyre of Envision commented: ‘We would like to thank the Council and the European Regional Development Fund for giving us the opportunity to deliver this programme.

“It has been our experience that SMEs entering the public procurement market benefit from support through skills coaching and mentoring and adopting a medium term view of procurement opportunities.

“Envision’s experience will ensure that the companies will develop the confidence and skills necessary to increase their success in public sector contracts.”
