Accident: Reports of two killed

It is understood the accident happened between Newbuildings and Magheramason.

The one-vehicle crash happened at around 3.30am between Duncastle Road and Woodend Road.

The two men were in a black Volkswagen Golf car travelling towards Londonderry from the Strabane direction.

Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

It’s believed there were four people in the car at the time and that the two men who lost their lives are from the Donemana area and are related to one another. The other two occupants, a male and a female, are not reported to have life threatening injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the accident to contact them on the non-emergency number 101.
