Accused of breaching court order

A well-known loyalist, Mark Harbinson, who had been jailed for sexually abusing a 13-year-old girl, has gone on trial accused of breaching a court order just three weeks after he left prison.

Harbinson, 45, from Sheepwalk Road in Lisburn, was freed a year ago, but it is alleged that he broke a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO). The breach concerns his alleged involvement with a band, contrary to the order. Harbinson denies the charge.

The trial continues.
