Action being taken to fill five positions

ACTION is being taken to fill five new civil service posts created at Londonderry’s Pension Centre at Carlisle Road last month.

Social Development Minister Nelson McCausland commented: “Posts in the Social Security Agency are filled in accordance with the Northern Ireland Civil Service policy and processes for vacancy management.

“As at September 18 there were only five vacancies in the Pension Centre in Carlisle House, Londonderry and in each case action is being taken to fill the posts.

“On September 19, following a routine bi-annual review, a number of new posts was created in the Pension Centre, bringing new jobs to Londonderry. Action is already in hand to fill those posts.”

In June the Sentinel reported how the relocation of 87 civil service jobs to the Londonderry centre had been delayed by a number of months.

The State Pension jobs were supposed to have been relocated to Londonderry from Belfast this spring to create a new single Northern Ireland Pension Centre but Mr McCausland revealed that the switch could not commence until July.
