The Big Bus will provide two services which are now available to book, so residents from these areas - Hospital Lane Estate, the Glens Estate, Coolessan Estate, Josephine Avenue, and Roe Mill Road - are encouraged to book as soon as possible as there are limited spaces available.

While the Big Bus is also available to all residents of the Borough, residents from the above areas will be prioritised.

If you are a woman in your forties, you are eligible for breast screening, this is the only place in Northern Ireland where a woman in her forties can avail of this opportunity. The screening takes only a few minutes and for the majority provides peace of mind.

Secondly, MOT health checks are open to everyone regardless of age and gender and are a great way to get a current picture of your overall health. The check takes up to 20 minutes and there are a variety of options such as cholesterol, blood pressure and peak flow. The health promotion officer will then be able to discuss with you your current level of health and how to go about making improvements in lifestyle and cancer prevention.

Call Action Cancer now on 90803344 or www.actioncancer.org to make an appointment for either service. If you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact Camilla Rodgers on 02877764009.
