Acts of Reflection and celebration in district

It has been a busy week of events in Londonderry for those in the loyal orders and other organisations, including the Royal British Legion.

Last week the 99th anniversary of the battle of the Somme dominated, with parade and acts of reflection and remembrance in the city, and notably at The Diamond, which was the main focal point for wreath laying and tributes.

People from all walks of life, including the Orange Order, locally elected representatives, school children, community figureheads and civilians as well as members of RBL Foyle Branch placed tributes and held silences to mark the huge sacrifice made at The Somme.
