John Joseph Mulholland, Enniskeen, Craigavon, admitted
the theft of a bottle of whiskey, valued at £12.99, from Lidl on September 6 last year.

The court heard that the defendant was caught on CCTV.

When interviewed he said he could not remember anything about it but he had been drinking
from a bottle of
whiskey that day and it could have been the same bottle.

A barrister for the defendant said he had spent some time in custody
and it had a sobering effect on him.

Mulholland had no
intention of returning to the lifestyle he was indulging in and wanted to put
everything behind him, added the lawyer.
