Adored her two grandchildren

The dearly loved wife of the late George McCormick whom she was married to for 57 years, lived at Scarva Walk, Banbridge.

Some time ago she won a substantial amount of money from a bingo game in a national newspaper. She also enjoyed going on holiday to Blackpool.

She once worked in Brookfield Factory for a number of years, and was also a darner. She later took early retirement to mind her two grandchildren whom she adored.

She was a member of Scarva Street Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her son Alan, daughter-in-law Caroline, two grandchildren Paul (England) and Alana (Saudi Arabia) and two great grandchildren Niamh and Aoibhe.

The funeral took place from Scarva Street Presbyterian Church on Friday August 22 and was conducted by the the Very Rev. Dr. John Finlay and an address was given by the Rev. Andrew Watson.

The hymns ‘O Love That Wilt Not Let Me Go’ and ‘The Lord’s My Shepherd’ were sung. Tom Haire presided at the organ. As the cortege was leaving the front of the church Edith’s favourite song ‘The Rose’ was played.

The interment took place in the New Cemetery. Family flowers were placed on the grave and donations in lieu are being sent to William Bell and Co. Funeral Directors, 23 Kenlis Street, Banbridge, BT32 3LR for The Southern Area Hospice.
