AES teams up with Ulster Orchestra

THE owner and operator of Ballylumford and Kilroot power stations has announced a new partnership with the Ulster Orchestra.

The partnership was initiated after meetings between AES and the Ulster Orchestra with a view to developing a mutually- beneficial relationship that would promote the arts and enhance personal development.

The Ulster Orchestra and AES are working on a project themed “Planet Earth” with Key Stage 2 children from local schools. The project will promote recycling and sustainability.

AES has also sponsored Ulster Orchestra’s principal trumpet player Patrick McCarthy.

Patrick said: “I’m absolutely delighted that AES have agreed to sponsor my chair, and hope this will be a long-lasting relationship to our mutual benefit.”

Mark Miller, AES UK country manager, added: “The partnership with the Ulster Orchestra provides unique development opportunities for our people and assists with the promotion and the sustainability of the arts sector.
