Aggravated assault charge

A 35-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the aggravated assault of a female.

Roger Joseph Robinson, of Pelham Road in the Waterside, faces one charge relating to an alleged incident on July 4, this year.

During a short hearing at Londonderry Magistrate’s Court, Robinson spoke only to confirm he understood the charge against him.

An investigating officer told the court she believed she could connect the 35-year-old to the charge.

Robinson was released on bail and ordered not to have any contact with the alleged injured party.

He will appear in court again on August 10.
