AGM of History Society

THE venue for the North of Ireland Family History Society AGM was Dunluce Parish Centre, Bushmills.

This year members had a special guest in the guise of Mr Robert Earl, an Associate Member, from Motherwell.

In all 40 members attended from the 13 Branches.

The programme started with a welcome from hosts given by Coleraine Branch Chairman, John Moore (who was Chairman when Coleraine Branch last hosted the event).

This was followed by tea/coffee and scones before departure to Old Bushmills Distillery for a tour (including whiskey sampling and a visit to the shop).

On returning to the Parish Centre, lunch was served, followed by the North of Ireland Family History Society AGM, with the usual election of Office Bearers led by Randal Gill, President of the North of Ireland Family History Society and other business. This included an update from each Branch, of member numbers, talks given and achievements over the last year.

Sincere thanks are due to Mrs Bernadette Kennedy and Charlotte McFadden from Coleraine Library and everyone within the Society involved in setting up the bookstall and displays.

The displays included information on the Dunboe Project, Coleraine Chronicle and Londonderry Sentinel, the Coleraine Branch website, Members Family Trees and the Coleraine Branch Newsletter.
