Ahoghill serious assault

Police are seeking witnesses to a serious assault on a man in Ahoghill during which he was knocked unconscious.

The man was walking out of a pub in the Diamond area of the village at around 10.45pm on Friday, March 14, when he is thought to have been attacked by four or five other men.

He was knocked unconscious and was helped home by a passer by.

The man attended hospital the next day and received treatment for eye and facial injuries.

A police spokesperson said that the injuries he sustained are not thought to be life threatening, but that the man is due to undergo surgery as a result of injuries to his face.
