Ahoghill strikes Gold in ‘Champions of Champions’
The community of Ahoghill is celebrating gaining the most prestigious recognition yet for their ongoing, successful efforts in horticultural achievement, community participation and environmental responsibility.
Ahoghill struck Gold in the Champion of Champions category in the renowned RHS’s Britain in Bloom Awards.
The results of the competition were announced at a ceremony in Bristol on Thursday which was attended by Ballymena Mayor, Cllr Audrey Wales and representatives from the village.
Speaking to The Ballymena Times from Bristol on Friday morning, James Perry of Ahoghill in Bloom said: “We were not expecting to get Gold - everyone is over the moon”.
