Aid for staff hit by bank crisis

LARNE Borough Council has offered to help any of its employees affected by the Ulster Bank crisis.

An IT problem has meant payments to the bank’s customers accounts have not been processed for three weeks and many are experiencing difficulties paying bills.

On the proposal of Ald Roy Beggs, seconded by Ald Winston Fulton, the council resolved that its finance service be authorised through the chief executive to assist employees unable to access funds.
