YOUNG Coleraine chefs were hard at work during in the Rotary Club’s annual Young Chef Competition.

The event was again held at Loreto College in Coleraine and eight young people from Loreto and St Joseph’s High School set about creating a three course meal to delight and impress the judges. They had half an hour to prepare, two hours to cook and could only spend £15 on ingredients.

The judges were Fionn McAlpin from The Ramore Wine Bar, Colette McCotter, international restaurateur, local solicitor Rosanna Jack and Rotarian Sue McLaughlin. They had a very difficult job deciding between the eight superb meals but in the end a winner was chosen.
