Air Ambulance welcomed
Mr Osborne made the announcement that he has committed £4m to an air ambulance service in Northern Ireland in his budget on Wednesday.
Responding to the news, Mr Paisley said: “This has been a hard-fought campaign, one which I am passionate about, so I am absolutely delighted with the announcement. Having personally written to the Chancellor on the issue, I received a letter from him, just before the announcement confirming that Northern Ireland was going to get its first Air Ambulance. Budgets don’t always bring such positive news, but this is truly welcome news indeed. I think it’s important to pay tribute to the fantastic work and unwavering commitment of one of our late “flying doctors”, John Hinds who campaigned for an Air Ambulance in Northern Ireland for many years.”
