All change at the top for the Churches Trust

FOR the second time in it’s history, the Churches Trust has appointed a woman to act as chairperson for the incoming year.

The Churches Trust held its Annual General Meeting at Carilse Road Presbyterian Church last week.

Attending the meeting were the Trust’s four Trustees, namely Rt Rev Ken Good, Bishop of Derry and Raphoe, Most Rev Dr Seamus Hegarty, Bishop of Derry, Rev Dr Robert Buick, Moderator of Presbytery Derry and Donegal, Rev Peter Murray, Superintendent, Methodist Church and members of the Board of Directors.

Canon Derek Creighton, who chaired the meeting, paid tribute to retiring Directors Fr Neil Farren and Rev Alaistair Rosborough for their contribution and commitment over the years.

He also thanked the Trust’s Chief Executive, Liam Milligan and his staff for their hard work and expertise.

Rev Louise Donald, Minister of Carilse Road Methodist Church was appointed Chairperson for the incoming year, the second female Chairperson in the Trust’s history. Speaking following her appointment she said: “I am delighted and honoured to be appointed to this role and will be working to encourage the continued cooperation of the churches in the city, as we serve the entire community and especially those most vulnerable”.

Following the meeting the Trustees visited the City of Culture offices in a show of solidarity and support for the staff following the recent bomb attack.
