All Saints’ 150 years celebrations

THIS year All Saints Tullylish is celebrating the 150th anniversary of the building of the current church in 1862.

The foundation stone for All Saints’ Church was laid in 1861 during the incumbency of the Reverend William Butler Yeats who was the rector of the parish from 1836-1862.

The celebration begins with a Festival of Flowers Opening Ceremony on Friday, May 25, opened by Baroness May Blood.

The Festival of Flowers celebration will continue until Sunday, May 27, with a closing service by Rt Rev Bishop Ken Clarke at 6.30pm.

The annual Duck Race at the church will take place on Friday, June 1, all donations will go towards the Croatia Out Reach Programme.

There will also be a church outing on Saturday, June 2, and a Children’s day service and picnic on Sunday, June 3.

Monday to Friday, June 18-22 will see the ‘Walk and Talk’ History Week around the parish, combined with a photo exhibition in the church hall.

Parish Mission week with Roger Murphy from “Through Faith Missions” leading the Mission on the theme ‘More than Gold’ will begin on Sunday, June 24.
