All-star cast at Carrick's Woodlawn Primary School

Harry Potter, Willy Wonka, The Hulk, Cruella de Vil and many more heroes and villains have been spotted on the catwalk at Carrick's Woodlawn Primary School

Pupils and staff donned costumes for a day-long programme of activities to mark World Book Day.

The morning began with a catwalk to select the best dressed boy or girl in each class.

This was followed by a competition to build the “best jail” for the Big Bad Wolf from The Three Little Pigs story.

On the menu for the World Book Day themed lunch was Mrs Twit’s wormy spaghetti followed by Willy Wonka’s chocolate delight cake, all washed down with Harry Potter butter beer or Storm Trooper milkshake.

The literary adventure continued in the afternoon with pupils designing a book token, reading and playing games.
