Allister backs pensioners’ call for emergency fuel payments
NORTH Antrim MLA Jim Allister has backed the campaign power of the Pensioners’ Parliament.
Responding to the concerns raised by the Pensioners’ Parliament, Mr Allister said: “After speaking to a meeting of the Pensioners’ Parliament held in Ballymoney recently, I got to hear first hand accounts of those vulnerable pensioners who are struggling to heat their homes over this long winter period.
“The stark choice for many of those affected is whether to spend their money on food or heating. That is a choice which no vulnerable pensioner should have to make.
“Therefore I fully support the Pensioners Parliament call for Emergency Fuel Payments to be made this year.”
