Allister Comments On P and J Transfer

TUV leader Jim Allister says "there is nothing for unionists to celebrate and much to lament" in law and order powers being transferred to the Executive at Stormont.

Mr Allister said April 12 “will stand out as a red letter day of achievement” for Sinn Fein as they ‘get their hands on policing and justice’.

“As a Sinn Fein staging post this day will give them much to gloat over,” said Mr Allister.

He went on to say that: “The road to this day is littered by a litany of broken DUP promises” and also stated that “Elevating David Ford to the 'No Unionist need apply' Justice Ministry will do nothing to improve law and order”.

The TUV leader concluded: "What now of the fiction of an 'Opposition' at Stormont? Today Northern Ireland joins North Korea as having a Parliament with no Opposition! And, this is what some foolishly call 'Moving Forward'”.
