Allister slams Causeway parking costs
NORTH Antrim MLA Jim Allister has hit out at the cost of parking at the Giant’s Causeway and has pressed for change.
Speaking in Stormont, Mr. Allister asked the Tourism minister, Arlene Foster to condemn the cost of £8.50p. a person in a car who might not want to use the centre, but only interested in going to the stones.
Mrs Foster responded: “I think that it is disproportionate. I have to ask myself whether I would be happy to pay that amount of money to access the Visitor Centre if I went with my family. I am not sure that I would. “
The Trust said that the cost was benchmarked against other attractions and felt it represented value for money.
All the money was ploughed back into the facilities to make it a better experience.
