Amelie set to Amaze in Limavady

Complementing the stunning exhibition Henri Matisse: Drawing with Scissors exhibition currently on display, the Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre has devised a dynamic programme of superb cultural activities, not least the screening of two sublime French films – Amelie and Belleville Rendez-vous.

Hailed as one of the best films to be produced in France in recent years, Amelie is screening on Tuesday, November 5, 7.30pm. Played by Audrey Tautou, Amelie is an innocent and imaginative young girl living in Paris. On discovering a mysterious box in her flat, she suddenly decides that her life’s mission will be to anonymously change the lives of those around her – with comic and mischievous consequences.

With beautiful cinematography and quirky filming throughout, this movie won the hearts of international audiences, garnering over 40 awards and launching Tautou’s successful career. The film is rated as Certificate 15.

All the family can enjoy the stunning film Belleville Rendez-vous on Saturday, November 9 at 2pm. This award-winning, internationally acclaimed animation follows Madame Souza and her beloved pooch Bruno as they set out to rescue her kidnapped son. Featuring sublime artwork and brilliant comedy, this film is great fun for the young at heart and definitely not to be missed! It is rated Certificate 12A.
