‘Among best ever’ results for Lismore
Principal Joe Corrigan said the most pleasing aspect of the results was the 16 per cent increase from last year in the number of students achieving three grades in the higher A to C category, and a similar 16 per cent increase in the number of passes achieved in the higher A to C category, now 74 per cent.
A total of 79 students sat 235 examinations in 23 different subjects with a 100 per cent pass rate in 20 of these.

Hide AdAmong the best individual performances were Aaron McAree gaining three A grades, one of them starred, and Katie Smith achieving three As.
Meabh McManus, Joshua O’Hagan and Sergey Kravtsov each undertook four A-Levels with Meabh scoring two As, one B and one C, Joshua gaining one A and three Bs and Sergey (for whom English is a second language) achieving one A, two Cs and one D.
Sarah Moore had two As and one B, while other top achievers included Rebecca Blevins, Kate Corvan, Ryan Heaney, Corey Mulholland, and Ciara O’Hara.
“Given the large, diverse and mixed ability nature of our A-Level cohort, these results are very creditable and very pleasing,” said Mr Corrigan.

At AS Level, Sarah McGuinness gained three As and one B and Aoibhan McManus achieved one A, two Bs and one C. Colm Fitzpatrick, Cal Girvan, Niall Kerr, Kelly McGookin and Ciaran Rooney all scored two As and one B while David Lavery got one B, two Cs and one D.
Other top AS achievers included Owen Beattie, Rory Clifford, Stephen Heaney, Leah Nugent and Shannon O’Hagan, with a combination of A and B grades.
Mr Corrigan again congratulated all involved and commended these results as a solid platform for building excellent A-Level performances next year.
