She said: “After recording original and cover songs over the past few years I’m so excited to be given this massive opportunity to perform in front of music industry professionals with a chance to perform in London.”

All of the finalists will be vying for a spot in the final taking place in London during BRITs Week in 2015 in the lead-up to one of the biggest nights in the music industry’s calendar, The BRIT Awards.

The Newbuildings teenager first started out by performing at talent competitions around the Londonderry area back in 2011.

Not long afterwards she started recording both original and cover tracks as well as auditioning for places on some familiar Saturday night television series.

Last year she recorded her first original track ‘Leave You Behind’ a matter of months after Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon gave the 15 year old their votes of confidence in Cardiff.

She’d been performing in front of a live audience in Cardiff back in January for a place in the finals of the popular ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ television programme.

Although she didn’t make it through then two of the judges - Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon - asked to speak with her and encouraged her to keep singing and apply for the X Factor when she was old enough.

In the Big Music competition the successful young people, aged 14 to 24, will be competing for top notch prizes, including the opportunity to record at the world-famous Abbey Road Studios, the chance to perform at Classic FM Live at the Royal Albert Hall, and the unique offer to be featured on the BRIT Awards Compilation Album 2016.
