An 80th birthday celebration

A SPECIAL 'birthday celebration' will take place on Sunday, December 12, at 3pm in the Rankin Halls at Ebrington Presbyterian Church.

The service will mark the 80th anniversary of the start of Christian teaching begun by T S Mooney in Londonderry, which still continues to this day.

'A book in his hand, a Saviour in his heart and a purpose in his life,' was the essence of the Christian teaching begun by T S Mooney, and while the leaders have changed, with boys only becoming boys and girls, and even though the nationwide organisation that was 'Crusaders' has been re-branded 'Urban Saints', the essential goal of reaching out to young people between the ages of 11 and 19 with the message of the Gospel, still continues.

All former Crusaders, and their friends, are invited to join serving Crusaders for the 80th Birthday Service on Sunday, when the guest speaker will be Rev Robert Miller.

Robert is a former 'old boy' of the class who has returned to the city as the Rector of Christ Church, Culmore, Muff and St Peters. A warm welcome awaits.
