Andrew and Sara get muddy for charity

Andrew Burgess (22), resident in Saintfield and student at Ulster University, just can’t wait to get muddy, all over again.

“This was such great craic last year,” said Andrew. “I signed up to do it as soon as entries opened. I talked my girlfriend Sara Patton into joining me this year and the rest of my family too.

“If last year was anything to go on, we will be impossible to recognise as we cross the finishing line. We’ll have to make sure we get ‘an after Mud Madness shot’ to compare and contrast.

“We’ll be raising money for Marie Curie, in memory of my Granny, who was cared for by Marie Curie Nurses.”

Suzy McIlveen, Partnership Manager at Marie Curie said: “We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone to McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Mud Madness, and will have our eyes peeled for Andrew and Sara.

“We’d like to extend a very big thank you to all involved with the event, from the organisers Pioneer Group and sponsor McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes, to all the hundreds of supporters who fundraise year on year on behalf of Marie Curie.

“This year’s event sold out in record time; if you weren’t able to get signed up in time, join us as spectators on the day, please considering supporting someone who is taking part with their fundraising or make a donatoin online now at www.justgiving.com/Pioneer-Sport1”

“Andrew is not alone, we know lots of supporters for whom this is an annual event in their diaries. We wish Sara a very happy and muddy first McVitie’s Jaffa Cakes Mud Madness.”
