Angela banking on home patch after 40 years

A local woman has been appointed as the new manager of Danske Bank’s Lurgan branch.

Former St Michael’s Grammar School pupil Angela McGeown takes up the post following 10 years as manager of the Armagh branch.

She began her career at Danske Bank (formerly Northern Bank) nearly 40 years ago.

Angela very much considers herself a ‘local’ in every way - something she sees as being beneficial to her job.

She said: “I am excited to be back in my ‘home patch’ in Lurgan and am really looking forward to working with local people again to support them and help meet their personal and business finance needs.

“Having grown up in the town and worked in the Lurgan branch before, I know the local customers and businesses very well. This local knowledge and experience instils in them a sense of trust and they feel confident in coming into the branch for financial advice and support.”

Angela also highlighted the important role Danske Bank is playing in the local community: “We have just finished running our Mortgage Week in the branch and will continue to help new and existing mortgage customers who wish to buy for the first time, move house or mortgage or even build their own home.

“We also have a long history of helping young people learn about money. Just recently we launched a new tour of the ‘Lights, Camera, Math ‘a’ Magic’ show with theatre company Cahoots NI which visited some local schools throughout May and June.

“We have also just launched a handy iPad version of our popular Moneyville game for children.”
