Ann on team to hike against cruelty to kids

The HACK is on September 20, and is once again back in the beautiful Mourne Mountains.

There are plenty of volunteering opportunities available, where you will have the chance to see some of Northern Ireland’s most beautiful scenery while supporting NSPCC’s work with local vulnerable children.

Ann, who also works with the NSPCC’s Young Witness Service, said: “I love hill walking, and do a long distance walk every year with friends in my spare time.

“I wanted to volunteer so thought that the HACK was the ideal event for me. I am going to be marshalling on the day and encouraging the people who are taking part to keep going.

“I would encourage everyone to consider volutneering as there are so many options, and you get such a sense of achievement from taking part in something so worthwhile.”

NSPCC community fundraising manager Fionnuala Savage said: “I would like to thank Ann for her support for this year’s HACK. We have lots of opportunities for everyone to volunteer their time at HACK to help us create the best experience for our walkers. We need people to marshal the route, set up check points, help with registration and of course cheer our walkers all the way to the finish line. These walks are only possible because of the support that we receive from volunteers.”
