Anne scaling new heights for charity

CHILDREN’S cancer charity, CLIC Sargent, is aiming to scale new heights as they partnered up with Helm housing today to train for the charity’s Mourne Challenge which takes place on 29 September.

Lisburn woman Anne Mageean, Health and Safety Officer at Helm Housing and Gemma McCallan, CLIC Sargent launched the charity partnership with a training session at the Queens PEC climbing wall.

Anne is urging people from Lisburn and beyond to join her for the thrill and adventure of taking on Northern Ireland’s highest mountain on Saturday September 29; “Staff at Helm Housing are delighted to be supporting CLIC Sargent’s Homes from Home appeal this year. Supporting local charities is very important to us at Helm, and what better cause to support than children and young people with cancer.

“Through our partnership with CLIC Sargent we have learned about the huge distances that families in Northern Ireland have to travel to get the cancer care their child needs. We know that the Homes from Home Appeal will make a massive difference to those families, so we are delighted to get on board with our first fundraising challenge.”

There is still time to register for this event by contacting Gemma on 028 9072 5780 or by emailing [email protected]. Registration for the event is £20 and we encourage participants to raise as much as they can.
