Annual Living Nativity on Friday

Once again, hundreds of children and their parents will get to experience the sights and smells of Bethlehem’s manger scene, as well as witness the hustle and bustle of census time.

Visitors will have opportunity to meet the Roman soldier and hear about the census; listen to the Wise Men share their search for the Messiah and witness the Shepherd’s fall on their knees as they worship Jesus in the stable, right among live animals.

The church’s minister, the Rev. Mark Mander says, “The living nativity is special because members of our community have an opportunity to attend a family friendly event free from the commercial pressures that surround many people’s lives at this time of the year.”

Over the past couple of years the event has grown in size and has become a favourite with children and adults alike.

School groups will be visiting throughout the day, but from 6pm to 9.30pm the event is open to the public.

Wesley Stewart a member of the congregation who assisted in last year’s nativity said, “It beats a trip to see Santa hands down!”

There are refreshments and mince pies are served throughout the evening free of charge. Admission free.
