Another Londonderry riverfront eatery is closing

Londonderry riverfront restaurant 24 Queens Quay has announced it’s closing.

On Tuesday (May 19) the local eatery announced via its Facebook page that it was ceasing to trade “through no fault of their own”.

“Due to circumstances outside of our control, we’ve had to cease trading at 24QQ through no fault of our own.

“As you may be aware we have suffered considerable financial loss through starting up and closing the business and did not foresee this happening.

“We would like to thank all our customers and staff for their dedicated support and effort.”

The new restaurant began recruiting online for a range of staff last July and opened shortly thereafter on the site of the former Queen’s Quay Social restaurant, which had also closed after a relatively short period trading.

On a more positive note, the sale of The Clarendon Bar, just around the corner from Queen’s Quay, has been agreed.

The bar, which closed before Christmas was being offered via the Osborne King group for in the region of £450,000.
