Another steady performance by the Bready Ulster Scots Pipe Band

BREADY Ulster Scots Pipe Band travelled to Enniskillen recently to take part in the RSPBANI Pipe Band Championships.

The band were drawn last to play in their grade and were the only band in their grade to play in the torrential rain that fell that day. The Piping was judged by Pipe Major Richard Parkes from the Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe band and out of the 10 bands competing in the grade he felt the Band worthy of second place behind Moneygore.

The Bready Drum Corps secured a 3rd place and put in another steady performance. Pipe major Robert Campbell was pleased with the result and commented that 'the band have yet to reach their full potential at the competitions as the band are capable of a lot more and regularly prove that at band practice, we take on board the comments made by the judges and work on them to rectify what we need to improve on."

The Band's press officer Allen Fleming commented: "This is the third outing for the Band and the Band have been in the prizes at all competitions entered, it is still early in the season and we hope to improve on our second place in the very near future.

The Bready Drum Major Rachel Caldwell made it two wins out of two on Saturday by lifting the title of Junior Champion to go with her win at the Bann River Championships in Banbridge. The Band are travelling this Saturday to take part in the County Antrim Championship in Larne and anyone wishing to travel with the Band to the Competition on the day should contact Allen Fleming on 07933477695 as there are still seats available.
