Breastfeeding Co-ordinator Pauline McKeown held an information session for parents on healthy eating, with emphasise on how the protective qualities of breastmilk increase with the length of time a baby continues to drink breastmilk.

Pauline McKeown encouraged new mothers to try breastfeeding, saying:“Breastfeeding gives your baby the best possible start in life as it has lots of benefits for both mother and baby that last a lifetime.”

Causeway Maternity and Community Staff offer support and help to mums to breastfeed for as long as they want.

The Northern Obesity Partnership and Northern Trust midwives have been working together to support new mothers in breastfeeding.
