“By increasing our engagement with young people, older people and families we are also better able to look at the underlying issues behind anti-social incidents and work with our partners to find lasting solutions.

“This is a very emotive issue for communities but one we are determined to get right, together.”

Councillor Thomas Conway, chairperson of the District Policing Partnership (DPP) added: “I would like to congratulate the police and our partner organisations on these welcome statistics.

“Anti social behaviour is continuously identified as the primary concern for our residents and this significant reduction of 600 incidents means there are 600 less victims of anti social behavior in the Council area. As a DPP, we will monitor police performance to ensure that local people continue to shape local policing.”
